School Nursing Roles
Role of the School Nurse and Staff Nurse in School Nursing:
- Conducting health assessments with parents, children, or teenagers.
- Health assessments help us understand the child's or young person's perspective, expectations, and the support they seek.
- Meetings can take place in schools, family homes, or community hubs.
Early Years Practitioners
- Our focus is primarily on primary-aged children and their parents, assisting with behavioural challenges and various parenting issues.
- We aim to engage with the child to gather their insights and understanding, which helps us support positive behaviours.
School Nurse Assistants
- We visit schools to measure the heights and weights of reception and Year 6 children.
- We conduct a variety of health promotion sessions in classrooms and via Microsoft teams.
