Free NHS vision screenings are offered to all children under the age of 16. Any optician can provide this complimentary vision test for your child.
It is recommended your child has a vision assessment as early as possible as problems with vision can occur at any age.

Remember all NHS vision checks are free for children under the age of 16. Your child does not have to be able to read as vision checks are undertaken using age appropriate tests and equipment. It is vital to have a vision screening test even if your child doesn’t display the above signs as there may be an underlying condition.
